In so many ways, Sydney’s CBD is transforming into a place of life and activity, and the latest example is Wynyard. Familiar as a transport hub for commuters, Wynyard now is gearing up for a free, immersive midweek festival that celebrates all the things that inspire us and make us happier.
Wynyard Park will host Wynside Out on Wednesday and Thursday June 29-30, 8am-6pm. The festival has four zones: ‘Play’, ‘Eat’, ‘Relax’ and ‘Collab’. Take part in sports and games with your colleagues in the Play zone and build team spirit – games include archery, basketball, table tennis, corn hole, ring toss and Connect Four. Grab a bite in the Eat zone. In the Collab zone you can have a team meeting out of doors and hopefully spark some fresh ideas. Heating, seating and cover will make the Relax zone a comfortable place to hang out and get a head, neck and shoulder massage, and you can also listen to discussions with some top-notch speakers.
Those speakers include sustainability and health communicator Jo Taranto (on working for a more sustainable future); Indigenous leader Paul Callaghan (on finding your dreaming path); mindfulness coach Chelsea Pottenger (on how to become a mindful high performer); and Wiggles star Greg Page (on the importance of knowing CPR). Celeb vet Dr Katrina Warren will also appear with her dog Chilli.
Food on offer includes Japanese cheesecake by 15cm of Happiness, Impossibe Burgers (plant-based) by Butter, donuts by Donut Papi, bar food from Stitch Bar, Oaxacan food from Santa Catarina Mexican, and Brudo’s Coffee.
Wynside Out is supported by NSW Government as part of the Festival of Place.
