Time Out says

A haven for antiques lovers, Tricketts has spared no detail, from the ornate moulded ceilings and imposing original cedar staircase to the cut-crystal glassware in the bedrooms and persian rugs, to establish its periods credentials. Practically everything you can see is a collectable. A wealthy merchant’s house in the 1880s, a boys’ home in the 1920s and then a children’s courthouse, 270 Glebe Point Road has been many things to many people, but as a B&B it may have finally found its ultimate role. The seven guest rooms (one king-, five queen- and one twin-bedded room) are decorated in different styles, but all are en suite, and two are aimed at honeymooners (that is, they have four-poster beds). In summer breakfast is served on the rear deck; in the cooler months it is in the conservatory. Internet (high-speed/wireless). No smoking. Parking (free). TV. LightRail Jubilee Park/bus 431, 434. Rates $198-$245 double. Rooms 7. Credit AmEx, DC, MC, V.
