Atmos, one of Tokyo’s hottest sneaker stores, has opened a konbini-themed pop-up shop named Atmos Mart for the release of its exclusive Nike Air Max collection. It might seem like a weird choice, but the new collection, which features both clothing and sneakers, uses designs inspired by common items found at a Japanese convenience store.

The collection features motifs of onigiri rice balls, instant cup noodles and chicken snacks, which are staples at konbini. For instance, those yellow striped sneakers look just like a packet of FamilyMart’s famous fried chicken.

Inside the Atmos Mart, you'll find sneakers displayed on shelves usually reserved for ready-to-eat bento boxes, along with free papers and posters designed to look like weekly magazines, plus other Air Max items.

The pop-up shop will be open for a limited time from March 15 to 28 and the new collection will be available for purchase in-store and online from March 19. However, you can sign up for a reservation lottery now. The shop also coincides with Air Max Day, which is Friday March 26. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, entry to the pop-up shop will be granted through a booking system on the Atmos app
