Definitely the best shop I have visited in London is RACHEL VOSPER CANDLES. Hand made candles right in Belgravia, poured by Rachel herself. A truly unique experience in a beautiful mews moments from the chaos ofKnightsbridge. They offer candle making courses as well. But the absolute best thing is the BESPOKE service they offer, filling any vessel you bring them with a fragrance of your choice. AND its next door to a pub- should keep everyone happy! Address is : 69 Kinnerton Street SW1X

This article has failed to mention one of the better shops that London has to offer: OLIVER BONAS www.oliverbonas.com. Am not sure how many shops they have but there are quite a lot of them - they have a good selection of gifts, jewellery, scarves (my absolute faves are from there), dresses etc
I've never been to London before, but it is my dream to go there. Most people don't want to go cause of the weather. But it seems like a very nice place. It's historical. And very educational. The stores seem very unique and interesting. I hope to go to London and go shopping one day. Since I live all the way in the United States.
Why are chain stores on here? nothing speical about chains sorry. abercrombie is american so not really cool or new for american tourists
Everyone check out the following stores : Holisyer Gilly hicks Abercrombie Jack wills and of course M&m world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
check out Drop Dead shop in London, they sell the coolest clothes, I just wish I could afford more of it :L
I've found my favorite London shop! Check out Folklore on Upper Street in Islington. I think it only opened a few weeks ago - London's first proper ethical design store!
What happened to XEN near Middlesex Street, E1 ?? Great prices on excellent mens suits as well as massive savings on Loake hand made shoes from Northampton !!
It has been sometime because i have commented on someone elses work, luckily this is positive though. Great post, i is going to be reading this blog more within the future.
These days there's too a lot garabage written on blogs, glad to see your blog has kept it is integrety. Thanks
This comment would be to say thanks, i dont comment typically, but when i do it's constantly for some thing very good.
I don't really understand how any properly thought through list of the best shops in somewhere as diverse as London can end up with 9 clothes (or strongly clothes focused) shops in the Top 10. How depressingly blinkered...
LN-CC is wonderful, can't understand how Selfridges ranked so highly? Liberty is also great. Good list all in all.
Thanks for this list--a very interesting composition of shops across London. I would like to offer my personal favourite--which didn't make your list-maybe because it is new or maybe because ethical fashion is still emerging properly in the London arena, it is: Danaqa World Chic 282 Westbourne Park Road, W11 1EH www.danaqa.com ...for wonderful luxury, ethical personal and household accessories. beautifully made items from unusual places, with great 'feel-good' stories!
TFC in Dalston rules, I love the European supermarket smell - It's like being on holiday. It's a shame Beach London didn't make it in, on Cheshire Street.
