It's another week, Chicago. But something to look forward to—there's a three-day weekend ahead of us. Which is good, because it looks like we may have a bit of a drizzly week, though the sun is set to come out just in time for the weekend. Even if it doesn't, we won't let a little bit of weather get us down. In fact, it may even drive us to stay at the bar a little longer than normal. This week, we've got a few great spots to sit down and enjoy some Italian cuisine, Spanish food and even seafood while you snag a cheaper-than-normal drink.
Every day: Want to grab a cheaper drink any night of the week? Head to Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya. Sunday–Thursday from 5–7pm and Friday–Saturday from 2–5pm and 10pm–close you'll be able to grab cheap food and drinks, like $1 beer. How? Snag a signature ramen and get a beer for $1. Want something different? Izakaya dishes will be $3–$4, and Sapporo and Kirin Ichiban are only $4.
Every day: If you don't want to travel far from work for happy hour, head to Seven Lions. From 3–6pm, grab $8 wines by the glass and shareable plates like Taleggio grilled cheese and crostinis du jour and loaded fries, also for $8.
Sunday–Thursday: Don't leave work until 6? Salero's got you. From 5–7pm, get half off select pintxos and drinks, like the Comfort for the Evening with reposado, grapefruit, lime, ginger and Angostura bitters.
Monday–Friday: Oysters area always on our mind, and you can get cheap ones at GT Fish & Oyster's happy hour. From 3–6pm, grab half-price oysters, beer and wine to start your night.
Monday–Thursday: Cheaper drinks and snacks at a fantastic Italian spot? Yes, please. Cocktails are $8, sommelier's selection wines are $6 and beers are $5 from 5–7pm at Balena. You'll also be able to get cheaper snacks like sweet corn arrabiata for $5, blistered shishito peppers, tigelle panino or the seasonal bruschetta for $6.
