It was another beautiful spring weekend in Chicago, which is the perfect time of year to dig into a bowl of noodles and gooey, melted cheese. That's exactly what we did at the Mac & Cheese Smackdown presented by Time Out Chicago, which took place at the Bridgeport Art Center and served attendees dishes created by eight local restaurants.

Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine, Coco's Famous Fried Lobster, Old Town SocialNew Line TavernR Public HouseLuella's Southern KitchenThe Pasta Bowl Wicker Park and Grand Lux Cafe were all in attendance with some delicious variations on the classic comfort food. Luella's Southern Kitchen took the crown for the best mac and cheese rendition with their Forever Braised Short Rib Mac n Cheese. There was also beer from Forbidden Root and plenty of space to relax outdoors on the venue's patio. Check out some photos from the day and keep an eye out for future Time Out Chicago events.
