Whether you prefer to unwind with the help of a muscle-soothing hot stone massage, a rejuvenating facial or a full-body red wine bath (yes, they exist!), these spots offer a huge variety of treatments to set your mind and body at ease.

This posh spa within the Langham Hotel bases its practices around the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the five elemental forces of Wu Xing: metal, wood, fire, water and earth. You can get a relaxing taste of all five elements through the Chuan Chicago Signature Escape, a two-hour experience that that includea acupressure massage with heated bamboo and a full-body mud mask. Weary travelers can also reap the benefits of the Chuan Jet Leg Revival, which combines an herbal salt scrub and full-body massage that are designed to combat fatigue and mental exhaustion.

Our favorite part of spa-ing at the Peninsula Hotel Spa is the time we spend chilling in the lounge area. Single-person beds are outfitted with fluffy comforters and nestled in draped enclaves. It's the perfect place to disconnect before enjoying one of the spa's treatments, which are inspired by Ayurvedic and Asian philosophies. The Hot Stone Massage is a fan favorite, but we prefer to ball out with the Ultimate Indulgence Full Day Spa Retreat, which includes an hourlong facial, full body massage and a complimentary meal. Make time to splash around in the hotel's Olympic-length indoor pool before checking out of the Peninsula for the day.

Breathing new life into the ancient tradition of Greek and Roman bath houses, Aire Ancient Baths is a singular spa experience in Chicago. The awe-inspiring space, which is built inside an old factory in River West, is like a hidden bunker designed for peaceful retreats. Once inside—and with an appointment—guests can enjoy massages and "rituals," like the Wine Experience, which includes a facial massage, a red wine soak and a 60-minute full-body massage.

A good spa is all about relaxation, and this River North spot sets the tone as soon as you show up for your appointment. Instead of sitting in a typical waiting area, kick up your feet in a calming, dimly lit, semi-private tented chamber. The treatments are similarly next level—think chakra-balancing massages, infrared sauna therapy and a volcanic clay body wrap. Be sure to reserve a complimentary shower room when you book your appointment; the walls are covered in beautiful Moroccan plaster, and guests are treated to plush towels and eco-friendly products.

There's a spa service for everyone at the Waldorf Astoria. The hotel's tiniest guests can indulge with the in-room Children's Spa, which includes a gentle manicure or pedicure. Dudes can treat themselves to the Fitness mani-pedi or the Gentleman's Facial, which targets dehydration and sensitive skin due to shaving. There's also a long list of luxurious body treatments, massages and facials—for maximum pampering, try the dermalinfusion body treatment, which implements a combination of vacuum massage and serums to plump and rejuvenate the skin.

What this cozy massage studio lacks in space it makes up for in skill and affordability. You can book a relaxing 60-minute Swedish massage for under $90 or a 30-minute mini-facial for $55. Pro tip: Before you secure your appointment, check Oxygen's website for specials and deals, which often allow you to tack on discounted services, like a 30-minute head and neck massage.

As you may expect, the spa services at the Four Seasons are no less than divine. Take advantage of Spa Happy Hour Monday through Thursday from 3 to 6pm, where guests can select two 25-minute services for $125, like an express facial, eyebrow wax or neck and shoulder massage. Want to splurge on a romantic treatment for two? One of the spa's more unique bookings is the Skylight Swim, which closes down the 50-foot Roman-style indoor pool for one lucky couple. The experience starts with a massage and continues with a bottle of champagne and canapes.
