HBO has just released the photos and trailer for ‘Game of Thrones’s season six finale (episode 10; ‘The Winds of Winter’) and it looks epic.

WARNING: If you haven’t caught up with the series (until season six episode nine), don’t read any further. Because spoilers, obviously.

Season six has been moving at a very fast pace. Since it ran out of source material – George RR Martin is still working on the sixth book in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series – the TV series was left to chart its own course. And we love the speedy story developments so far; what would have taken an entire season to resolve, certain storylines are advanced or wrapped up within an episode, and that’s exciting – though critics have argued that sometimes this is done at the sacrifice of character development.

Okay, so this is what we know from the trailer:

1. The focus will shift back to King’s Landing, with the showdown between Cersei Lannister and the High Sparrow that the series has been teasing all season long. The trials for Cersei and Loras Tyrell are happening, and we think this is when an epic fight will take place. We’d also love to finally find out what secret plot Margaery Tyrell has been planning.

2. Davos confronts Melisandre on the sacrifice of Shireen Baratheon (that horrific scene took place back in season five).

3. Mother of Dragons Daenerys will make a serious decision. This, we think, will set the scene for next season. We hope this means she will be crossing the Narrow Sea to Westeros.

4. There looks to be further development for Bran and his superpowers. We hope we’ll get some clue as to where this character is going and how he fits in with the bigger plot.

5. Something fishy seems to be going on between Jaime Lannister and Walder Frey (the man behind that Red Wedding massacre).

6. Littlefinger appears to be claiming his reward from Sansa for marching his army to save Jon Snow in last week’s ‘Battle of the Bastards’.

The best news is, the season finale episode will be the series’s longest yet, clocking in at 69 minutes. We can’t wait until this Monday, June 27, when it airs on HBO at 9am (with the repeat at 9pm).
