So you’re bored of dragging your feet to the office food court for chicken rice, and the allure of nasi campur is non-existent after you’ve mixed and matched all the options. Have your lunch delivered right to your desk or office lobby with these lunch delivery services in KL, set to make makan time less mafan and more fun.

Now this is a meal with a difference. Instead of professional chefs, the meals at Hometaste are prepared by aunties and uncles who cook out of their own kitchen, ensuring that your lunch or dinner is filled with the flavours of a truly home-cooked meal.

Hometaste differs from the typical delivery service as only packages are offered. For lunch, the Soup, Standard and Premium packages are five-day plans with different dishes (think braised chicken, preserved vegetables with spicy minced pork, and more) every day. The menu changes weekly, and each meal is served with rice and fresh market vegetables. Package orders have to be placed by 10pm on Sunday, and lunch is delivered from 10.45am-1.45pm with a RM2 delivery fee.

The Naked Lunchbox

Odd name aside, The Naked Lunchbox offers healthy meals that are relatively affordable and most importantly, delicious. Your lunchbox (from RM15.90) options include salads, sandwiches and mains, as well as regularly updated specials, with past items like baked fish, chicken stew, beef ragout and couscous, and vegetarian spiced lentil patties.

The menu changes weekly and all items are listed with their nutrient content. There are two delivery slots – 11am-12.30pm (last order 9.30am) and 12noon-2pm (last order 10.30am). No minimum order required, and delivery fees start from RM5 per trip; for orders above RM100 you’ll get free delivery.

Dietmonsta is all about well-balanced meals and helping you achieve your fitness goals. Meals are separated by category according to your objective – muscle gain, weight loss and eating well – and each offers healthy wholesome meals with options like pesto salmon with brown rice, a bean and quinoa salad bowl, or green curry chicken with brown rice. Each meal is certified by Dietmonsta’s nutritionist (with its nutritional info stated), and are prepared with premium ingredients.

There are packages with great prices, starting from RM48 for three meals. Delivery slots start from 11am to 7pm, and you get free delivery around the Klang Valley if you have a minimum order of RM30.

Dah Makan

It’s hard to resist Dah Makan’s meals – and many KLites don’t. The user-friendly website and mobile app make it easy to click and buy thanks to the multiple payment options including PayPal, credit card and cash on delivery. It helps too that the portions are generous, and meals arrive hot within the 40-minute window.

Each day offers twelve main dishes for lunch and dinner (ranging from RM19.90-RM31), and cover everything from Western to Asian cuisine – think options like nasi lemak with rempah roast chicken, beef shepherd’s pie, baked chicken parmigiana and herb crusted fish with truffle mash. For sides, there’s a selection of soups, salads and fruit boxes, as well as cold-pressed juices, cakes and cookies to complete your meal.

Dah Makan also offers Prime subscription packages of ten, 20 and 50 meals with great savings. Plus, delivery is free within their coverage area (which is pretty extensive) with no minimum charge; however, there’s a service charge for orders below RM18.

There are options galore at Cooked, a service started by the former managing director of Foodpanda Joon Chan, who wanted to do more than just deliver food. The dishes are prepared from scratch, and cuisines range from traditional and Asian recipes like classic beef rendang or Korean barbecue chicken to Western food like chicken pesto pasta or fried chicken chop and vegetarian options.

The menu is refreshed each day with new options, and cut-off time for same-day deliveries is 10.45am. There’s a minimum RM5 delivery charge, and you can check their website for more information on minimum purchase amounts and delivery fees around Klang Valley.

Meraki Kitchen

This fuss-free gourmet lunchbox delivery service updates its menu weekly and posts it on their Facebook and Instagram pages for easy reference. All you have to do is check out the week’s dishes, and place your order through DM or WhatsApp. Weekly menus commonly include rice bowls with brown rice and chicken or beef; good to know, vegetarian variations of the set dishes are also available.

Lunchboxes are priced from RM16-RM20, with a delivery charge of RM4; free delivery for three orders and above. Orders have to be made by 7pm the day before, and meals are delivered from 11am-2pm.

Epic Fit Meals

We like Epic Fit Meals for its wholesome and healthy eats: there’s a wide selection of Melbourne-inspired meals like grilled chicken, baked pollock and strip steak complemented by a choice of sauces and sides. There are also fast-food style burritos, burgers and pizzas; as well as Asian-inspired specials like Ayam Geprek, a type of Indonesian ayam penyet served with spicy sambal, cucumber, kicap manis and rice.

Unlike others on this list, which feature weekly menus and take pre-orders, everything you see on Epic’s current menu can be ordered at any time of the day with a 45-minute delivery time guarantee (or get a free pizza). Alternatively, you can also do a takeaway with a 15-minute service time guarantee (or get a free burger) at designated Epic Meals centres. Throw in free delivery service, and you have a great way to have a healthy meal from an affordable RM12.80.
