Another week, another crop of ace London gigs and festivals. Out of everything that isn’t sold out, here’s our top ten. Click on the red headers to read more.

10. Sulk

London’s jangliest Britpop revivalists showcase their spot-on hazy songwriting at a Roadkill Records all-dayer. Lock Tavern. Sun Aug 4.

9. Allusondrugs

Huge, fuzzy alt rock that’s bound to slap a big fat grin across your face, sounding a bit like if Nirvana were from West Yorkshire. The Black Heart. Wed Aug 3.

8. Adriano Adewale

Get set for the Olympics with the Brazilian soul-jazz percussionist, teaming up with guitarist Antonio Forcione. 606 Club. Thu Aug 4.

7. Esa-Pekka Salonen

One of the world’s top conductors and his Philharmonia Orchestra play opuses by Mahler, Dutilleux and Schoenberg. Royal Albert Hall. Mon Aug 8.

6. Ibibio Sound Machine

An awesome electronic Afrofunk band perform in a replica Jacobean playhouse. Only in London… Shakespeare’s Globe. Mon Aug 8.

5. Roy Ayers

If you can’t make it to Wilderness, don’t miss the rare groove master playing a residency at Ronnie Scott’s. #vibes, in every sense. Ronnie Scott’s. Mon Aug 8-Aug 13.

4. Eastern Electrics

It’s well worth hopping on a train for this rave festival just outside the M25, starring Seth Troxler, Eats Everything, Groove Armada and Skream. Hatfield House. Sat Aug 6.

3. Borderless

Head to BAC’s stunning Council Chamber for shows by Hackney Colliery Band and Money, with more throughout the next two months. Battersea Arts Centre. Tue Aug 2-Wed Aug 3.

2. Caught by the River Thames

Low, Super Furry Animals, Beth Orton and Mulatu Astatke play live, plus fascinating talks and loads more. Fulham Palace. Sat Aug 6-Sun Aug 7.

The best gig this week: Visions Festival

Mykki Blanco

This one-dayer in Hackney has been a major summer highlight for the last few years, and with ESG, Mykki Blanco (pictured), Gengahr and Cate Le Bon live (plus black metal yoga and a dog show), its winning streak is all set to continue this weekend. Various Hackney venues. Sat Aug 6.
