Thursday June 8. It’s the day we’ve been building up to for weeks. That’s right, ice cream parlour Chin Chin Labs is finally throwing open the doors to its new Soho venue Chin Chin Dessert Club. And to celebrate this momentous occasion, the dessert bar will be doling out free ice cream on launch day.
The ice-cream experts first came to fame with a Camden parlour where frozen wizardry was used to create spectacular treats, with ice cream frozen to order using liquid nitrogen and consequent billowing clouds of steam. Chin Chin Dessert Club on Greek Street is upping the chilly ante with an all-new menu of sweet treats, including the Choux-Wich – an ice-cream sandwich in a choux bun case – and the Avo-Taco, an unnerving mash-up of taco and waffle with an avocado ice-cream filling. But hey, we’re sure they’ll nail it, the crazy mavericks. Otherwise, play it safe with cult classic puds like the Brownwich. Vote with your stomach.
