London may already be a bright-burning beacon for ace vegan food (take a bow, Temple of Hackney! Come on down, Farmacy! Etc etc) but there’s always room for new animal-produce-free treats in our book.

This week, meet – drum roll – the Brookie! Anyone? Bueller? OK, I’ll explain: the Brookie is a nice slab of fudgy brownie with cookie dough baked on top, all made using plant-based milks and margarines (and a few secret ingredients). They’ve been a ‘thing’ in the US for a while, but now Brixton Market’s eminent vegan cake maker Ms Cupcake is hawking her own particularly moreish riff on it. You can pick ’em up in person or order a box via Ms Cupcake’s website. Super sweet and cruelty-free? Colour us converted.
