Come Sunday, those of us who haven't abandoned the city for a long, sweet bank holiday weekend away will likely be at one of two major annual events: the Goat Race or the Boat Race. The former is for youngsters and the young-at-heart, whose idea of fun involves cooing and cheering on two billies representing Oxford and Cambridge at Spitalfields Farm. The latter is for the serious souls who like watching water sports (snigger) between two prestigious universities.

While throngs will undoubtedly turn up to witness those adorable goats attempt to run in a relatively straight line for victory, we're betting even more people (upwards of 250,000, in fact) head out to the Thames to get a glimpse of the rowing titans of Oxbridge competing for the coveted title. But where's the best place to watch the race get underway, we hear you say? We've only gone and rounded up the top spots for you.

Here's where to watch the Boat Race.

And if you need a little more info, here's our guide to the Boat Race 2016.
