At the start of every month, Michelin updates it coveted guide with a new batch of exceptional restaurants. Its inspectors spend the year dining in places up and down the country and meticulously assessing whether they are worthy of recommendation. Now, its March 2026 additions have been revealed.

A total of 18 eateries across Britain and Ireland were added to the guide last month. And, not to brag, most of them hail from London. Ten restaurants from the capital joined the Michelin Guide in March, four of which have had the enthusiastic stamp of approval from Time Out’s writers and editors. From a creative Caribbean joint in Herne Hill to a sophisticated Ukrainian spot in Notting Hill, here’s a breakdown of our favourites.

Rake @ the Compton Arms

Rake is the latest kitchen residency at Canonbury’s Compton Arms, a pub known for attracting the finest cooking talent. When Time Out food editor Leonie Cooper visited last year, she left a glowing five star review and called its menu a ‘line-up of endless hits’. Its retro-British dishes include things like deep fried cockles on skewers, browned oysters rarebit and ray wing tenders served on a ‘medieval-looking’ crumpet. Michelin inspectors reported that each dish was ‘designed for tucking in and putting a smile on your face’.

2210 by NattyCanCook

We named 2210 by NattyCanCook one of the five best restaurants that opened last year. It’s the debut joint from Nathaniel Mortley, aka NattyCanCook, who honed his craft working as sous chef at HMP Brixton’s in-house restaurant The Clink. Sat opposite Brockwell Park, 2210 offers a feast of inventive twists on signature Caribbean dishes. Think ackee and saltfish spring rolls, confit pork belly skewer and wiri wiri lamb rump. Time Out contributor Suzie Bakos called the place ‘a relaxed take on fine dining, and soulful Caribbean vibes’.

Lupa

Lupa

A ‘ballsy offering of big, bold food’ is how Leonie described Lupa’s menu when she dined there last summer. The little Rome-inspired trattoria in Highbury (co-founded by White Lotus actor Theo James) was praised by Michelin for its ‘rich and comforting’ cooking and ‘particularly good tiramisu’. Our top dishes include the gleaming yellow carbonara and the roasted porchetta stuffed with apricot.

Tatar Bunar

Tatar Bunar

Balkan food is having a moment in London, and Tatar Bunar is one of a number of Ukrainian restaurants that have recently launched in the city. After stopping by last summer, Time Out guides editor Ella Doyle awarded it a perfect five stars. Expect generous portions of dishes championing tomatoes, potatoes, dumplings and grill-fired meats. Highlights include lamb and beef tartare with soft onion bread and elderberry capers, sprats with buttered boiled potatoes and soft cheese-filled varenyk with a crème brûlée top.
