You won’t believe it, but Time Out is 50 this year. Since our first magazine in 1968, we’ve published almost 2,500 issues in London and launched more titles all over the world. To mark our big milestone, we’ve teamed up with the Museum of Brands in Ladbroke Grove to put together an exhibition of our best ever magazine covers: ‘Time Out 50: 50 Years, 50 Covers’. After launching on Wednesday with support from drinks partner Gin Mare, it’s now open to the public alongside the museum’s epic collection of consumer products. You can pick up some ace Time Out merch too.

Check out our video preview of ‘Time Out 50: 50 Years, 50 Covers’:

The original print magazines in the exhibition date back to that very first pocket-sized issue, through the radical ’70s and glitzy ’80s and ’90s to the present day. Check out cover stars like David Bowie (who was on the front of Time Out ten times) and Elton John (who guest-edited an issue in 2004), plus designs by Tracey Emin, Banksy, Gorillaz mastermind Jamie Hewlett and generations of talented Time Out designers such as the legendary Pearce Marchbank. It’s a brilliant and bizarre journey through half a century of design, pop culture and city life. After all, you’re only 50 once.

See the exhibition now – and grab tickets to our anniversary event featuring the best of London in one night.
