Camden Market might be more mainstream than it was in the ’90s, but it's still one of London’s most iconic attractions. Equal parts street food paradise, shopping maze and people-watching hotspot, the sprawling stalls are packed with everything from vintage fashion to quirky souvenirs – and it all still maintains plenty of Camden’s signature grungy charm.
Now, night owls will rejoice at the news that parts of Camden Market will stay open after the sun has gone down for the first time. The new Night Market will see traders across the North Yard, the go-to spot for eating and drinking, and the Stables, the trendy hub known for its vintage clothing, stay open until 9pm every Thursday evening.
The Night Market will run throughout July and August, allowing visitors to make the most of the capital’s long summer evenings.
To celebrate the launch, visitors who book a free ticket online get a complimentary glass of prosecco when they arrive at the market. All you need to do is show your free ticket at Epicurus, Ester, Pick & Cheese, Sizzl or Meat The Vegans between 5pm and 9pm to get your glass of fizz. You can book here.
Other highlights from the out-of-hours line-up include pints for just £5 at Ester (brewed just round the corner), £6 cocktails at Epicurus or a natural wine and cheese pairing at Pick & Cheese.
More substantial meals will include juicy steak sandwiches from Asador’s Argentine grill, kebabs from Mediterranean grill Sizzl, Italian flatbreads stuffed with beef and chicken at Piadina Mia, and plant-based eats at M'eat The Vegans. If you’ve room for more, there’s Humble Crumble (which, as the name suggests, serves up delicious loaded crumbles) and fairytale-themed dessert emporium Hans & Gretel.
And it’s not just food and drink that’s up for grabs at the Night Market. Plenty of The Stables’ eclectic boutiques will also remain open, including The Arc, known for its retro fashion treasures, and bespoke jeweller The Hammer Silver.
Previously, Camden Market officially closed at 6pm on weekdays and 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The North Yard Night Markets are part of Camden Market’s wider summer programming, which offers free events throughout June, July and August. Highlights include Summer Fun days for children every Wednesday in August and a party to launch the World DJ Championships.
Tickets for all of these can be reserved through Eventbrite here.
