Coldplay are doing something no band has ever done before: reaching double digits for the number of appearances at London’s Wembley Stadium in a single tour. That’s right, the group is at Wembley Stadium for 10 nights. That’s more of a mini-residency than a leg of a tour – and it’s officially underway. Chris Martin and co got going in northwest London over the weekend with two massive shows. 

Coldplay’s mammoth Music of the Spheres world tour has been running since early 2022. Over the course of Coldplay’s Wembley gigs, nearly one million people will be treated to their signature showmanship.

Getting excited to see Coldplay? Of course you are. There are just a few things you need to know before heading to see Coldplay at Wembley Stadium, from timings and the setlist to last-minute ticket availability – here’s all the info you might need.

When are Coldplay playing Wembley Stadium?

Coldplay’s first night at Wembley was on Friday, August 22. From there, they will play shows across the end of August and start of September. Here are the band’s 10 shows listed out

What time do doors open?

Doors will open at Wembley at 5pm, with the first support act starting at 6pm.

What time will Coldplay come on stage?

Expect the band to take to the stage at around 8.15pm.

Who’s supporting Coldplay at Wembley Stadium?

There will be a whole host of different acts supporting Chris Martin and co throughout the rest of their mega Wembley run. Here’s who to expect from each date:

• August 26, 27: Elyanna, Chloe Qisha, Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela

Wembley bag policy

Wembley allows everyone to bring one small bag each, and this must be A4 size or smaller. If you buy merchandise at any of the stalls outside of the venue it will come in a sealed bag – please ensure that this bag remains sealed until you are inside of the stadium.

Banned items

For things to run smoothly, there need to be some boring rules like ‘please don’t bring fireworks into the stadium’ or ‘no weapons allowed’. We apologise if you were looking forward to using your golf umbrella if it starts to rain, but that’s banned too. Here’s a list of all the items banned from Wembley Stadium:

• Unlicensed musical instruments: trumpets, drums, and other devices capable of causing a disturbance or nuisance, including vuvuzelas & megaphones.
• Flag poles greater than 1m in length
• Laser devices
• Bottles and Glass Vessels
• Aluminium containers
• Cans
• Flasks
• Poles
• Frisbees
• Dangerous or hazardous items
• Scooters
• Skateboards or other skates
• Signs or items with corporate or inappropriate branding
• Unauthorised fliers & drones
• Spray paint
• Large industrial style ‘permanent’ marker pens
• Prams & pushchairs (will be assessed for each event)
• Transmitting devices
• Large bodied cameras, Professional cameras & recording devices (this applies to cameras that have interchangeable lenses)
• Selfie sticks
• Laptops and tablets
• Illegal merchandise items
• Hard plastic, metal or glass bottles
• Illegal charity collection utensils
• Motor bike helmets
• Large umbrellas
• Darts
• Hampers
• Cold boxes
• Alcohol
• Food and drink
• Animals (except service dogs & guide dogs)
• Bags outside of the A4 policy (medical exemptions apply)

How to get to Wembley Stadium for Coldplay

Wembley is accessible via several train stations. Wembley Park Station is served by the London Underground Jubilee and Metropolitan lines, you can get to Wembley Stadium Station via Chiltern Railways and Wembley Central Station is on the London Underground Bakerloo line, London Overground Lioness line, London Midland and Southern lines. 

It’s worth noting that on September 7 and 8 strikes have been called for London’s tube network by the RMT union. TfL has not yet confirmed how disruptive these strikes will be (if they go ahead), but we’ll update this page when we know more. You can find out more about the RMT’s industrial action here.

Where to buy Coldplay merch

Merch stores are stationed around Olympic Way and Wembley Park.

You can also pick up merchandise in central London, as there is an official pop-up store at Unit 79-81 Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross. The shop is open 11am to 8pm everyday until September 9.

Weather forecast

For the next few Coldplay shows this week, here’s the latest weather forecast according to the Met Office. 

• Tuesday August 26 – 19C to 25C, with up to a 20 percent chance of precipitation (mostly earlier in the evening). Gusts of wind
• Wednesday August 27 – 16C to 21C, with up to a 70 percent chance of rain (again, earlier in the evening). Will be windy earlier in the day
• Saturday August 30 – 17C-19C, up to a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Likely to be windy
• Sunday August 31 – 16C-19C, up to a 30 percent chance of rain early in the evening. A little windy

Reviews so far

Like throughout much of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour, reviews for the Wembley shows so far have been very positive. 

In the Mirror, Tom Bryant’s review wrote that the show was ‘intoxicating’, saying that ‘fans were treated to a spectacular show that was a feast for the senses’.

In Rolling Stone, a four-star review called the show a ‘dazzling stadium spectacle’, while City AM led with a headline of ‘the most feelgood two hours you’re likely to experience’.
