A pizzeria which was named in the top 100 best pizzas in the world is opening up a London restaurant.
Forbici, which was one of only two UK restaurants in the ranking (alongside London’s Crisp), is launching its first London site later this month in London Bridge. It came 83rd in the 2026 Top 100, which was announced earlier this summer at a ceremony in Milan.
Forbici, which opened its first site in Manchester last year (and followed it with a second in the city, as well as a restaurant in Sheffield), serves Neapolitan style pizza. Forbici means ‘scissors’ in Italian, as all of the restaurant’s pizzas are cut into four table-side with a pair of sharp snippers. The London menu will include provola e pepe (tomato, smoked provola, black pepper and fresh basil) as well as porcini e tartufo (a white pizza with fior di latte, porcini mushrooms, truffle sauce and chives) pizzas.
As well as being only one of two UK pizzerias in the top 100 list, Forbici has some formidable fans, with storied chef Marco Pierre White saying the original Manchester branch served him ‘the very best pizza I’ve ever had in my life’ last year.
The London Bridge branch will open at 120 Tooley Street on October 27. Speaking about the opening, Andrew Garton, Forbici’s CEO, said: ‘London feels like a natural next step for us, and we’re excited to bring what we do to the capital for the first time. We know London has a brilliant and discerning pizza scene, and we can’t wait to give Londoners a reason to make Forbici their new go-to.’
