It’s almost summer, which means it’s officially beer in the sunshine season. You’re all probably feeling quite scared about the arrival of the £8 pint, but we bring some good news. London is getting three new Wetherspoon pubs this summer – part of the chain’s countrywide expansion (which you can find out more about here).
The new ‘Spoons will arrive before you can say ‘how much for a pint!?’, opening in Fulham, London Bridge and Paddington in June, August and an unknown date respectively.
Fulham’s Wetherspoon branch, officially called Walham Green, will open inside a former ticket office at Fulham Broadway station on Tuesday, June 17. In recent years the spot at 472 Fulham Road has been used as a food court, but soon it will be home to cheap pints, fry ups and pitchers.
The London Bridge location (called the Sun Wharf) will take over the former London Dungeon on 50 Tooley Street. It opens on Tuesday, August 26, operating from 6.30am to 12.30am, seven days a week, following planning approval from Southwark Council.
The third boozer, on Merchant Square in Paddington, does not have an opening date just yet.
Wetherspoons has already opened one branch in London this year, inside Waterloo station. These three new locations are part of 15 new outposts that will open in the UK before the end of this year.
