And just like that, the final weekend of August is upon us. Now that the weather is decidedly milder and people are preparing for back to school season, things in London are dying down a little. There’s still plenty of events worth travelling around the city for, though.

You might be trekking to Wapping for the carnivorous Meatopia, journeying to the Barbican for its final outdoor cinema screenings, heading to Queen’s Park to browse some books or just planning to see where the weekend takes you. Whatever you’ve got lined up, you’ll probably be counting on some form of public transport to get you there.

TfL often uses the weekend to carry out maintenance and upgrade work on its network, meaning that several tube lines are usually closed or partly closed on Saturdays and Sundays. So, to help you organise your plans this weekend, these are all the scheduled closures and amended services happening across the London Underground and Overground for August 29 to 31.

TfL has also warned that there’ll be severe delays across the whole line on Friday due to train cancellations.

On Saturday and Sunday there’ll be no DLR trains between Stratford International / Poplar and Woolwich Arsenal / Beckton. You can use the Jubilee line between Stratford, West Ham and Canning Town or the Elizabeth line connections between Custom House and Woolwich. There will also be replacement buses running.

As ever, the entire Waterloo and City line is closed for all of Saturday and Sunday.

No Lioness line trains will be running between Kilburn High Road and Euston, on Sunday before 12pm or after 8.30pm.

Mildmay line

From 10.15pm on Sunday, there won’t be any Mildmay trains travelling between Camden Road and Stratford. You’ll be able to use Windrush services between Highbury and Islington, Canonbury and Dalston Junction instead, or catch a replacement bus.

Windrush line

On Sunday, you won’t be able to catch a Windrush train between Sydenham and West Croydon. Instead, you can use a connection Southern train between Crystal Palace, Norwood Junction and East Croydon for replacement buses to or from West Croydon.

Also on Sunday, there’ll be no Windrush services between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction/ Battersea Park. To get to where you need to be, use replacement bus service M. It’ll run between Canada Water and Clapham Junction via Surrey Quays, Queens Road Peckham, Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill, Clapham High Street and Wandsworth Road.
