London’s body-positive penis gallery wants your dick pics (yes, really)

Whatever your gender, you’d be forgiven for not having many positive associations with dick pics – whether you’ve been the horrified recipient of an unasked-for one or have worried about how you shape up in comparison to ones you’ve seen. They’re an emotional and ethical minefield. But an online men’s magazine is hoping to change that by bringing back its body-positive gallery of intimate photos – and they’re looking for Londoners to contribute to it.

The pop-up gallery (stop it) is part of The Book of Man’s festival dedicated to modern masculinity and mental health, which is taking place throughout March in association with the suicide prevention charity CALM. ‘In defiance of porn culture, the aim is to share normal pictures of men’s members, to dispel anxiety and promote positivity around manhood,’ the organisers wrote last year about the 2019 exhibition.

Designed to ‘open up a conversation’, the gallery will be unveiled at The Book Club in Shoreditch on March 10, alongside a panel discussion on taboos and myths that will feature Florence Schechter, director of London’s new Vagina Museum.

Submissions of strictly anonymous, strictly arty photos are open now: click here to find out more.
