American meat institutions InterStellar BBQ and La Barbecue are both coming to London next month for a serious BBQ collaboration.
They’ll be popping up at The Ned in the City of London throughout September for a one-month residency in the hotel’s Electric Bar & Diner. Pitmasters John Bates from InterStellar BBQ and Ali Clem from La Barbecue will be prepping the ‘ultimate BBQ tray’ for the takeover.
The £150 tray (based on two sharing at £75 a head) will feature signature dishes from both Austin-based restaurants, including InterStellar’s peach tea glazed pork belly, pulled lamb shoulder, chimichurri beef short rib, and La Barbecue’s pork ribs and chopped cheese sausage, alongside sides of Texas toast, La Barbecue queso shells & cheese, InterStellar beans and beetroot salad.
Which should keep you going for a while. If that’s not enough, then La Barbecue USDA prime brisket sourced from Creekstone Farm can be added for two people at an extra £50. Still hungry? Go for InterStellar’s banana pudding with Jack Daniel’s caramel.
Jack Daniel’s cocktails will also be on hand, including a Texan Sun with corn and honey and a hard shake with banana and raisin, as well as picklebacks.
Both InterStellar and La Barbecue received their Michelin stars in 2024. La Barbecue launched in 2012 and InterStellar opened in 2019.
The residency runs from September 4 until October 4 at The Ned’s Electric Bar & Diner. InterStellar enjoyed a successful pop-up at The Ned last year, but this is the first time La Barbecue has come to the UK.
The Ned is at 27 Poultry, City, EC2R 8AJ.
