Luckily, there’s now an event that’s claiming to do all the hard work for you, leaving your nose to roam free in search of The One.
Popping up in Exmouth Market for the week leading up to Valentine’s Day (February 8-14, to be exact), Match will be offering an unusual new angle on modern dating in the form of Eau Mon Garçon – a chance to peruse potential partners based solely on their smell.
There’ll be six scents on offer, each based on the ‘olfactory portraits’ (aka natural odours) of six single males. You’ll be able to get a good noseful of them all and then get in contact with the bachelor behind the bottle if any of them sets your senses a-tingle.
So if swiping right isn’t quite romantic or aromatic enough for you, this could be the answer to your sweet-smelling prayers.
