The summer of 2025 may go down for the return of Oasis and the multiple suffocating heatwaves we’ve made it through, but it’s not over yet. We’ve got one more bank holiday to enjoy this weekend (August 23-25).
This is your chance to soak up the last of the London summer before the nights get longer and the sunshine feels like a distant memory. Luckily, the forecast for this weekend is pretty nice – ahead of next week, when the tail end of Hurricane Erin could bring wind, rain, and general wintry things to Britain. You can read more about the potential impact of Erin here.
Broadly speaking, you can expect some sun and a lot of clouds over the next few days, but thankfully very little rainfall or intense 30C-plus temperatures. Here’s the current weather forecast for the bank holiday weekend in London.

Friday August 22
Friday is looking dry but cloudy, with highs of 22C. There could be some spurts of sunlight in the later afternoon and early evening, but overall it’s going to be pretty average.
Saturday August 23
Saturday will be very similar to Friday, just a little bit colder with temperatures peaking at 20C. Again we could see some sun peaking through, but don’t get your hopes up about catching a tan.
Sunday August 24
Things are set to start picking up on Sunday, with far less cloud cover and a little bit more heat. Temperatures could hit 23C, and if you’re in the sunshine, it could be the perfect warm-but-not-too-warm type of day.

Monday August 25
After a fairly middling weekend, Monday’s weather is looking lovely. There should be blue skies and 24C heat from sunrise to sunset, with a gentle breeze to stop you from overheating at any point. Perfect for beer gardens, walks in the park, and drying the massive heap of laundry you’ve been putting off.
