Two mega-exciting new restaurants are coming to King’s Cross

The team behind Barrafina (one of our favourite tapas places) are adding two impressive new restaurants to Coal Drops Yard, that massive retail development by King’s Cross station. They’ll both have sizeable outdoor dining areas. Exciting stuff.

The new arrivals, which open in autumn, are a fourth branch of Barrafina and a brand new restaurant called Casa Pastor. This one will be El Pastor’s little sister, a taco joint by the team in Borough Market (we gave it four stars). A wine bar called The Drop will accompany the two restaurants, but, at the time of writing, details about this one are hazy.

One thing we’re sad about is the outdoor dining won’t be open in time for the warm weather. Fingers crossed for an Indian summer.

Don’t like waiting? Here are some royally good restaurants in King’s Cross.
