2. The Grosvenor Cafe

While the movie projectors may no longer be rolling, the former Grosvenor Cinema is now home to a buzzing restaurant and venue that hosts a wide programme of live music and frivolity every single week – ideal for a festive night out on the town. 3. The Corinthian Club

The Corinthian Club has it all. Wander into the Tellers Brasserie & Bar for a dining experience that combines elegant presentation and fresh seasonal ingredients, plus a Christmassy afternoon tea offering for the luxury lovers. As the sun goes down, head to Charlie Parker's, the in-house late-night piano bar that's replete with live music, cocktails and an NY feel. And if you don't want the night to end, dip into The Club for more drinks, thumping beats and festive cheer until 3am. Now there’s a jolly good night.

4. The Lauder’s

Named after a Scottish town and someone prone to extravagant glorification (a suck-up, in common parlance), The Lauder's is pretty deserving of high praise. Maybe it's the festive menu, packed with classic pub scran like a steak and Guinness pie. Perhaps it's what they've got on tap, a pint, a cocktail or a soft drink (Pepsi MAX obvs) for every taste. Or it's simply just the super festive vibe it's giving. Whatever it is, it's working a treat.

5. Òran Mór

When it comes to picturesque Christmassy pubs, Òran Mór is as stunning as it gets. Once a beautiful 19th-century parish church, today Òran Mór is a dining space, gig and wedding venue. Frankly, it's just a very good pub (with stained glass windows) that boasts over 150 malts. Want to try some festive Scottish fare? Try the spiced ale braised feather blade (haggis, potatoes and veg).
