Last night, the winners of the World's 50 Best Bars Awards were announced at a ceremony in London, honoring a group of exemplary drinking establishments chosen by almost 500 leading figures in the bar industry. It's been a while since L.A. made the list—the last time was in 2011, when the Varnish came in at #22—but 2016 has been a great year for bars in L.A., and we made a triumphant return to the list with one of the most buzzed-about bars in the city. The Walker Inn, a stunning cocktail lounge in Koreatown, was included in this year's list, coming in at #37.

Owned by Proprietors LLC and 213 Hospitality, the bar is known for its inventive, rotating cocktail menus and exemplary service. Past menus have embraced themes that range from Alice Waters to the Pacific Coast Highway to Wet Hot American Summer, featuring cocktails that are just as much works of art as they are fantastic drinks. We've been fans of the bar since it opened in May 2015 (it won for Best New Cocktail Bar at our 2016 Bar Awards) and are excited that it's getting the international recognition it deserves.

Check out the entire World's 50 Best Bars list here, but be sure to stop by the Walker Inn—enter through a secret door in the back of the Normandie Club—to show your local support.
