Friday

Stuff your face with New York bagels and Chicago deep dish without ever leaving LA thanks to Culinary Road Trip. The tasting event is hitting Siren Studios with regional fare from nine spots around the country from Portland's Lardo Sandwiches to New England's Luke's Lobster Rolls. Make sure to grab your timed tickets ahead of time.

While you're in Hollywood, immerse yourself in the local theater scene at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. There are over 70 performances to choose from tonight, including one-person shows, new musicals, comedies and edgy dramas.

Saturday

Is there such a thing as too much Hello Kitty? Never. And to prove it, why not take a trip to the Forum for Hello Kitty’s Supercute Friendship Festival. Think of it as Hello Kitty Con-lite, with tons of merch, photo ups and performances—sugary shows with Hello Kitty twirling around or Badtz-Maru shredding on guitar, all in oversized, fuzzy form.

Spend the rest of the afternoon imagining the future the LA River and shopping in Chinatown during the closing weekend of the Los Angeles Design Festival. First up, a panel of industrial designers and engineers sit down at the river-adjacent studio space to discuss what the urban ecology of the river may look like in the near future. Head down the river afterwards for a pop-up market from local artisans at Chung King Road.

See a selection of old, animated Mickey Mouse shorts at the Theatre at Ace Hotel as the LA Chamber Orchestra celebrates Walt Disney Animation Studios with a live score. Composer Mark Watters conducts a program of classics like "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and "The Band Concert" as well as two "lost" and remastered Oswald the Lucky Rabbit shorts.

Prefer your films in an open-air theater? Check out all of tonight's movie outdoor movie screenings, from The Grand Budapest Hotel to The Karate Kid.

Sunday

Sunday is all about LA Pride. Though the LGBT fest runs all weekend, this morning marks the colorful Pride Parade through West Hollywood. Stake out a spot along Santa Monica Boulevard or watch from the Abbey, which will be live streaming the parade via drone. Stick around for all of the revelry at West Hollywood Park, including a performance from Fifth Harmony.

If you'd rather avoid the gridlock in WeHo, celebrate pride weekend atop the Ace as Moon Uterus: Age of Aqueerius takes over Upstairs. This legendary Eastside queer dance party hosted by Mel Shimkovitz, Devendra Banhart and Amy von Harrington is brining along synchronized swimming performances in the pool and DJ sets from Jill Soloway and Peaches.
