There's a full Asian-influenced menu, but the food comes a poor third to the history and the strong, well-crafted drinks. In business for seven decades, the Formosa was a hangout of the Hollywood aristocracy during the '40s and '50s. The clientele these days is younger and less famous, but the walls remain lined with images of the stars that once graced the still-atmospheric bar and the dark booths.
