Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the carols. There’s no denying that festive Christmas music is an integral part of the annual holiday. So why settle for CDs and Spotify playlists? Take a moment to enjoy carols with some of the best musicians in Melbourne this Christmas with a special festive performance by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO).

Spend Christmas with the MSO on Saturday, December 8 when the world-class orchestra takes you, your family and your friends through a very festive music experience. The two merry performances (you’ve got a matinee or evening option to choose from) will feature ARIA award-nominee soprano Greta Bradman singing classic carols such as ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Silent Night’.

Joining Bradman in leading the jolly concert is conductor Benjamin Northey. Northey will lead the orchestra through traditional and contemporary Christmas tunes. Expect all your yuletide favourites like ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Come All Ye Faithful’ and ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’. The orchestra will also be playing works from classic Christmas stories, with excerpts from The Nutcracker suite and The Polar Express on the program.

To celebrate the end to another year, the MSO has even convinced a very special, red and white-suited guest to join them. Christmas with the MSO is happening on Saturday, December 8 at 1pm and 5pm.
