Time Out says

A celebration of female musicianship hits Hamer Hall this month with special guests Kate Miller-Heidke, Tim Rogers and more

We've seen electric violinist and singer Xani Kolac around the Melbourne music scene for a while now, in her own band the Twoks and in the backing band for artists like the Bedroom Philosopher. Her next project is possibly the most ambitious – and most rewarding – to date.

Hitting Hamer Hall on Sunday May 21, Stand by Your Woman is a celebration of Australian singer-songwriters and female musicianship. Kolac has reworked hits from a bunch of Australian music legends and is set to perform them live with her all-female backing band.

For one night only, Kolac and her band – which features a rhythm section, string quartet, a four-piece horn section and two backing vocalists – will be joined by some extra special friends: Kate Miller-Heidke, You Am I's Tim Rogers, Kate Ceberano, Tex Perkins, Jen Cloher, the Church's Steve Kilbey, Fraser A. Gorman, the Cat Empire's Harry Angus and Davey Lane.

The show comes from the masterminds behind RocKwiz Live!, the stage version of the Aussie music trivia show, so you can expect a high standard of production and performance plus plenty of good times.
