Fordham’s may be the oldest standing milk bar in Melbourne, but thanks to an upgrade just two years ago, it now doubles as a humming café. While still honouring its former life as a regular convenience store – you can purchase cartons of milk, soft drinks and lollies or top up your Myki – the right side offers the option to linger for coffee, breakfast, lunch or a seemingly endless list of cakes and slices. Like all good gourmet milk bars, there is also the option for take away, with a number of salads and pies to choose from.

Was introduced to this gem last week by a friend and I'm back (and sitting in the cafe writing this!)
It's a really relaxed local vibe right beside the Hartwell Station. Plenty of parking out the front and a playground across the road for the little ones.
Great brunch and lunch (I had soft and delicious The Famous Bacon & Egg Roll for brekkie and the filling-but-still-healthy Zoodles for lunch and will be back for one of their fancier desserts soon!
Be sure to leave with one of their homemade sweet treats (I love their AFL ball holding gingerbread men) or a bag of old school lollies.
Will be back soon with friends in tow! :)
