Join the Astronomical Society of Victoria for a celebration of the skies

Stars have captivated humankind for millennia – it's a fascination that not even professional spoilsport Covid-19 can dampen. The Astronomical Society of Victoria is taking its annual star party online this September, hosting a free livestream event for starry-eyed Victorians to enjoy.

The livestream star party runs over three days with a number of events. Starting on Friday, September 25, the Astronomical Society of Victoria will livestream events like planet observing, solar viewing and radio astronomy via its Facebook page.

The celestial celebration will also have two raffles (where you can win astronomical instruments like binoculars) and will also be taking part in NASA's International Observe the Moon night on September 26.

The Astronomical Society of Victoria livestream star party is free to attend and can be done from your own backyard or balcony. Head over to the Facebook event page to learn more.
