It is a truth universally acknowledged that anyone in possession of a teenage emo past and some time to grow out of it must be in want of a nostalgia-fuelled party. Well, it’s time to bust out your smudgiest black eyeliner and dark-like-my-soul band tees because on October 13, I’m Not Okay is taking over the Royal Melbourne Hotel to deliver the goods.
The playlist will no doubt include all your sixteen-year-old favourites, from My Chemical Romance and Panic! at the Disco to Paramore, All American Rejects and Blink 182.
The music starts at 10pm, but it’s worth getting in early because the bar will be serving up $4 pots and $5 vodkas until 11pm, with $4.50 pots and $6 vodkas after 11pm, as well as $7 basics all night.
