Hot take: peonies don’t get nearly as much attention as they should. But you can now see the bulbous, frilly flowers in all their floral glory at Spring Hill Peony Farm. Peonies bloom a little later than other spring flowers (around late November) so they’re perfect for those who want to wait until it’s warm to go picking.
Spring Hill has now announced the dates for its Peony Paddock Open Days for 2020. Over several days from November 18 to 29, visitors can head to the farm and pick their own peonies to take home (scroll down to see the full list of dates and times).
As with many events this year, there are a few rules to help keep everyone safe and well. All visitors to the Peony Paddock Open Days must register for a ticket, including children (except those under 12 months). Tickets are $45 and include entry to the farm plus 15 pick-your-own peonies. Notably, all visitors must be physically fit enough to walk the 3km round trip to the farm from the parking lot by the church, as there will be no shuttle bus this year. Guests must also bring their own secateurs to cut the flowers and well-behaved dogs are welcome, so long as they remain on a leash at all times.
Tickets for the Peony Paddock Open Days go on sale via the farm's website at 11am on Sunday, November 15.
