Platform is allowing Melburnians to return to Newport’s artsy hub, the Substation, albeit remotely. Creatives EdueElfie, Kalonica Quigley and Ian MacLarty have recreated the beloved building in Minecraft and will be hosting an in-game arts and music event this November as part of Melbourne Fringe.
Those wanting to take part have two options: you can either register (for free) to watch the five-hour broadcast on the day, or you can get your (digital) hands dirty and explore the game in Minecraft itself (there are a few things you’ll need if you choose this option, mind you). Either way, you’ll get to see newly created digital landscapes, artwork from Woods Street Youth Art Prize and enjoy a curated playlist of electronic music.
