Sometimes your standard eggs and bacon on toast won’t cut it for brunch. It’s times like those you need something a lot more exciting than a piece of white bread, and you’ll be delighted to hear that Pope Joan City is not only reopening its doors but joining forces with Indian diner Ish.
The result? A six-week menu of classic, all-day Pope Joan dishes inspired by Indian flavours. Think eggs Kejriwal – Bombay-style fried eggs with truffle cheddar and spring onion on soy linseed toast for breakfast, or everyone’s favourite, vada pav – a deep-fried potato dumpling on a house-made milk bun for lunch. Chase it with some of Nabil Ansari’s (Sunda) ice cream that fuelled the masses during lockdown and you’re set.
To top it off, Fixation Brewery – Australia’s most awarded Indian Pale Ale (IPA) brewery – will pour a curated selection of classic and contemporary IPA beers. A Fixation brewer will also be on-site for ‘Fixation Fridays’ from 4pm to 6pm each week, and will chat all things IPA plus offer free tastings of limited-release brews, alongside other happy hour specials.
PopeIsh is open from Mondays to Thursdays, 7am till 4pm, and Fridays from 7am till late.
