After more than eight weeks after the same-sex marriage survey was announced we will soon know the result. At 10am on Wednesday November 15 the Australian Bureau of Statistics will release the result of the survey and to mark the event, social activist group United for Marriage Equality is hosting a street party.
Head down to the Victoria Trades Hall building from 5.30pm on November 15 to party. There’ll be music, drag performances, food, drinks and dancing. Local drag star and accounting fangirl Karen from Finance will be hosting the evening. She’ll be joined by musicians HABITS, Wet Lips, Zelda Moon, HEXDEBT plus the Ballarat Orchestra and their LGBTIQ Choir.
Regardless of the result, the street party will go ahead as a celebration of the LGBTQIA community and its allies. Visit the Facebook event for more information.
