Prahran Market is dedicating an entire festival to the classic Aussie pastime of barbecuing

It’s a fact: all food tastes better when it’s cooked outside on a barbecue. Prahran Market is really getting behind barbecued food this summer, hosting a festival dedicated to all things cooked al fresco.

Sizzlefest is Prahran Market’s annual festival for people who eat, live and breathe barbecue. This year, it's taking place over three days. Head over to the famous foodie market anytime between March 26 and 28 to find cooking demonstrations from the likes of Fancy Hanks, live entertainment, competitions and lots and lots of delicious food.

Market Square will have pop-up marquees run by Prahran Market traders and some external chefs, all selling a tasty feast of barbecued foods. Look out for Hoy Pinoy, Bahari, Jimmy Brisket, Berbeo Bros, Hagen's, Stir the Pot and Sweet Greek.

For the first year, there will be an evening schedule on Friday and Saturday nights featuring live music, street performers and a beer garden.

The annual Sausage Tasting Competition is returning, however, it will now run over three ticketed sessions where you can try each of the sausages before casting your vote. Tickets also include a drink voucher for Burnley Brewing Beer Garden.
