Those tiny little legs are going to pound the pavement this month

Sausage dogs may not have the aerodynamic build of greyhounds, but damn it, they'll scuttle to the finish line if they have to. And they'll do it in an adorable costume to boot. Thankfully the annual running of the wieners returns to Hophaus Southgate on Saturday, October 13 from 11am as part of Hophaus's Oktoberfest celebrations.

During the Teckelrennen Annual Dachshund Race, Hophaus will team up again with online retailer My Dachshund Online and raise money for Dachshund Rescue Australia. More than 150 tiny sausage dogs have taken part in the competition since it launched in 2015. Heats start at 11am, with the speediest sausage dogs advancing to the finals.

Don't forget the costumes, either; the Best Dressed Dachshund parade is hilarious.
