Time Out says

Take your dog for a walk and help those that aren't so lucky

Taking your dog for a walk has never been as important, with Second Chance Animal Rescue holding a walk to raise much-needed funds for a new not-for-profit emergency animal hospital.

The walk will take place for four kilometres along the Yarra River, ending up at Footscray Park. The park will be the site of a pets' market, complete with stalls, a fancy dress and trick competition for dogs and real live dingoes from Dingo Discovery Sanctuary. The stalls are not just for dogs, though there will be plenty of doggy fare – you can also pick up a little something for a pet cat, or even for yourself.

Second Chance has received a grant to build a not-for-profit emergency animal hospital, but the rescue organisation needs to raise another $50,000 for surgical and other equipment. The hospital will offer free desexing, microchipping and vaccinations.

The walk begins at 8am and is $30 per adult (kids are free). The market is free to enter and finishes up at 3pm.
