Time Out says

Spend the winter solstice treating yourself to unlimited wine tastings and food pairings from 12 boutique wineries

After a two-year hiatus, the Yarra Valley Winter Wine Festival – The Shortest Lunch – is back. Twelve family-owned hidden gems of the Yarra Valley wine region are opening their cellar doors and sheds for wine-lovers to enjoy two days of tastings and specially curated bites alongside live music.

The festival will introduce patrons to the world of small-batch, minimal intervention wines that represent the rich history of the region, and a chance to meet the makers themselves as they let the world in on their winemaking processes. There will be over 80 wines available for tasting, including sparkling, orange and pét nat, with some released exclusively for the event. Food menus have been curated to match the wines on offer, with hearty winter dishes including osso buco, paella, prawn bisque and smoked Polish kransky rolls.

The Shortest Lunch is held on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26. For just $50 a ticket, you’ll gain access to the festival on both days and receive a wine glass to keep. A percentage of proceeds from the entry will go to Make-A-Wish Australia.
