Ezra Jack Keats Bookmaking Competition Exhibition

Each year for the past 26 years the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation has partnered with the Department of Education to hold a bookmaking competition for NYC kids in grades 3 to 12. Kids work with educators in the classroom on picture-book-inspired projects that fit into their regular curriculum, then submit them to the judges. For just under a month, 120 winning works—including books on September 11 and a how-to guide to tie your shoe—will be on display at the Brooklyn Public Library's Central Branch for all to admire.
