The Peanuts Movie is coming to theaters on November 6th—and we’re super pumped! Good thing for you, we’ve rounded up six sweet Peanuts-themed events for families in NYC. Watch the movie trailer together, then “Peanutize” yourselves with the movie character creator before heading to these events. Most are free! When you're through (and still in need of some family movie ideas), check out our list of the 50 best kids movies plus our favorite Halloween movies for kids and Thanksgiving movies for kids.

1. Prospect Park Alliance Halloween Haunted Walk + Fair

Meet zombies, werewolves and witches on this 36th annual haunted walk on Lookout Hill—and be sure to grab delicious fare from some of the city’s best food trucks. This year, The Peanuts Movie animators from Blue Sky Studios will be hosting drawing sessions throughout the afternoon—all ages are welcome (ages 7–12 recommended), plus there will be a costumed Snoopy character on-site and fun giveaways for the whole family. Lookout Hill, Nethermead, Prospect Park. Oct 24, noon–3pm; free. All ages.

2. Find the Spirit of Snoopy at the ASPCA Adoption Center

Help Snoopy celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month—plus pick up some “wag swag” as you cruise on through the event! Who knows, you could end up meeting your new (furry) best friend. ASPCA Adoption Center 424 E 92nd St (aspca.org/nyc). Oct 29 11am–noon; free to attend. All ages.

3. NYU and CB2 25th Annual Children’s Halloween Parade

Don your very best costumes for the Annual Children’s Halloween Parade. Participants big and small can gather at the Washington Square Arch (1pm) for a ghoulish procession to LaGuardia Place. See Snoopy (costumed character) walk in the parade and visit The Peanuts Movie–sponsored Moonbouce house (a bouncy house set up on a closed street for kids). Once you’re all at LaGuardia, the littles can grab a free trick-or-treat bag, play games and check out some cool rides. Meet at Washington Square Arch in Washington Square Park. Oct 31 1–4pm; free. Ages 3–12.

4. NYC Parks’ Fall Field Day

School’s out! Celebrate Election Day with NYC Parks’ first Fall Field Day, complete with classic outdoor games like the Giant Parachute, Tug-o-War and a Potato Sack Race, plus a three-legged race, a noodle javelin throw, an obstacle course, a pumpkin smash (bring your old pumpkins!) and a spoon/egg race. At the event, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in Snoopy sidewalk drawings, meet a costumed Snoopy character, snag cool gifts and play The Peanuts Movie field game. Highbridge Park, Washington Heights (nycgovparks.org). Nov 3 11am–3pm. All ages.

5. Meet Snoopy in Times Square (Military Island)

Little Snoopy lovers can meet him in person in Times Square at the Military Island pedestrian plaza! You family can be a part of the Times Square Peanuts Gang photo, see Snoopy on the NASDAQ tower and participate in fun giveaways. Meet at Times Square’s Military Island pedestrian plaza. Nov 3 4–5pm; free. All ages.

6. Museum of the Moving Image ∙ Screening and Filmmaker Conversation

Watch a screening of The Peanuts Movie, then learn how the film was brought to life as MOMI speaks with artists from Blue Sky Studios. 36-01 35th Ave (718-777-6800, movingimage.us). Nov 4 7pm; event included in price of museum admission; free to MOMI members. All ages.
