Friends of the High Line just released it’s spring programming schedule, and it’s awesome! Festivities kick off on April 23 and include some super kid-friendly offerings. After all, there can never be enough outdoor activities for kids to keep ‘em busy!

Here are some of the great things you have to look forward to:

Culture Shock (Saturday, April 23 noon–4pm)

Families can experience a day of music and performances by acts like Heidi Latsky Dance, Flexible Orchesta and Daniel Goode, plus spoken word and bilingual performances in English and Spanish.

Make It! (May 28, June 25, July 23, Aug 27, Sept 24 10am–2pm on the High Line – 14th St Passage and on the High Line under The Standard)

Check out programming with story times, art, nature and design, get dirty in the mobile garden or create a large-scale art installation! Families will also have the opportunity to create custom structures with Legos or build with the Children’s Workyard Kit. There will even be a fun show with the performers of Whoop Dee Doo!

Stargazing (Tuesdays April–Oct dusk–30mins before close on the High Line at Diller – von Furstenberg Sundeck)

Get a closer look at the stars with the help of the Amateur Astronomers Association around dusk! Some days will also be designated date nights, so grab a sitter and head their with your (grownup) loved ones.

ARRIBA!: Latin Dance Party (June 1, July 6, Aug 3 7pm–9pm on the High Line at Chelsea Market Passage)

Older kids will dig this later-night programming with exciting Latin performances from Orlando Marin, Los Hacheros and Aurora Flores y Zon del Barrio. You’ll see the High Line transform into a dancefloor!
