With your kids' back-to-school time fast approaching, you're running out of summer hours to explore NYC's coolest offerings! These kids' stores offer great picks, including apparel, toys and accessories.

Flying Tiger UES

This quirky Danish home goods shop  recently opened its third store in the States. Find everything from stellar office gear for adults, like colorful pens and notepads ($2 to $3), to cool kids’ trinkets like a glowing Luminous Rabbit night-light ($3), finger puppets ($4) an amazingly tiny easel ($2) and a mini Ping-Pong set ($1). Flying Tiger is also known for super cute party goods like paper garlands and inflatable coolers ($2 to $8). Most items are $10 or less, so a visit won’t break the bank. 1282 Third Ave (917-388-2812, us.flyingtiger.com)

CW Pencil Enterprise

Ah, the smell of a brand-new pencil. CW is as picture-perfect as it is functional and awesome; owner Caroline Weaver started off with an online store and eventually fulfilled her dreams of having a pristine boutique in NYC. It stocks pencils of all kinds, including vintage pencils (most between $1 and $4), plus accessories like notebooks and pencil cases. CW can also personalize your writing utensils with its hot foil stamping machine. 100B Forsyth St (917-734-8117, cwpencils.com)

Livly

The  buzzed-about Swedish company is known for its adorable  pima-cotton pieces for toddlers and babies, like onesies, bibs and blankets ($15 to $48). The Tribeca store also offers cool clothes and accessories for young kids (think tops, skirts, backpacks and jumpsuits). And it’s a great spot to get gifts for new parents, with plush toys, classic toys and a sweet newborn welcome kit ($61), complete with a onesie and a teeny hat! 108 Reade St (646-858-0805, livlyclothing.com)

Hazel Village Workshop

Prepare for cuteness overload! Hazel Village carries meticulously crafted stuffed animals made from organic cotton, and each critter comes complete with a special story. The store carries hand-stitched Beatrix Potter–esque cuties like Oliver Mouse, Ella Toad and Lucas Rabbit ($42 to $50), and it also sells outfits and accessories (starting at $4.50) to keep them looking stylish. 510 Third Ave, Brooklyn (929-237-6941, hazelvillage.com)

(Future visit!) Coming in Fall 2017: American Girl Rockefeller Center

The iconic Fifth Avenue store you know and love is making a move to 75 Rockefeller Plaza in 2017, and we can hardly wait! The flagship boasts more than 40,000 square feet and will feature amenities like a salon for dolls and kids (where both can get fun beauty services), new private party rooms for special events (ahem, over-the-top birthdays?) and a studio where visitors can create fashion designs for themselves and their dolls. 75 Rockefeller Plaza (americangirl.com)
