Facing pressure to continue diversifying their doll selections, American Girl/Mattel has chosen 2017 to introduce its very first boy doll: Logan Everett! With some of the brand's original distinctive favorites having been retired in recent years, American Girl has found itself in a time of great evolution—both introducing contemporary dolls and more historical dolls than ever.

According to The New York Times, Logan was a response to American Girl fan requests for a boy doll for boys to play with, and simply as a boy doll companion to girl dolls (Barbie-style). We have to admit—he looks like he'd fit in just fine as a young kid in NYC. He'd definitely be into indie music, too. We heard he's a drummer and friend to Tenney, (a singer-songwriter and another of American Girl's new releases).
