Keep the kiddos busy this midwinter break with spectacular family activities. The Museum of the Moving Image plays host to several events this month, including one centered around Jim Henson and another on Winnie the Pooh. Here’s the scoop below…don’t miss out!

I Am Jim Henson book presentation by Chris Eliopoulos and screening of The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson (Feb 18 1pm)

See rare video clips of the 1990 special The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson, then meet the illustrator of a newly-released book, I Am Jim Henson, part of a children’s book series called Ordinary People Change the World.$15, students $11, children 3–12 $7, under 3 free. Ages 5 and up.

Drop-in media-making sessions at Moving Image Studio (Feb 18–26 11:30am–3:30pm)

Depending on the day, your kiddos can participate in fun activities like making flipbooks and creating thaumatropes (hand-drawn optical toys) or building games and experimenting with stop-motion animation. Ages 6 and up.

Winnie the Pooh (2011) screening (Feb 19–26 12:30pm)

Stop in for a showing of this 63-minute film to see your favorite pals from the Hundred Acre Wood set out on an adventure to “save” Christopher Robin. $15, students $11, children 3–12 $7, under 3 free. Ages 3 and up.
