NYC Parks hosts lottery-based Learn to Swim classes for children of all ages every year, and it’s 100% free for city families! Who can say no to that? With all of the amazing local swimming pools for kids and wonderful NYC beaches open this season, you’ll definitely want your tykes prepared for fun in the water.

The very last Learn to Swim classes of the summer are held August 22–August 26, 2016 and registration will end at noon on Monday, August 15. It’s your final opportunity to get free swim classes for summer, so be sure to register ASAP! Go to the NYC Parks website to sign up for a class (and please be aware that you can only sign your child up for one session). Families will be notified if they are selected for the program they registered for by August 17

If your tiniest ones aren’t ready for classes just yet, head over to these splash parks where kids can do everything from shooting water cannons to splashing in shallow pools and fountains. There are also other opportunities for swimming lessons for kids (you’ll just have to pay for ‘em)!
