Enterprising youngsters craft robots that they can test and take home. Older kids build them with cardboard and circuits that enable them to move on their own, adorning these creations with embellishments before letting them run wild in the robot arena. Along the way, party leaders explain the engineering concepts that make it all possible. Kids 5 to 6 years old make floating and flying creatures— there’s no real electronics involved—that they can deploy in wind tunnels and drop zones. Parents may bring in cake and food from outside vendors. But with the all-inclusive party package, Brooklyn Robot Foundry provides plenty of food to fuel any adults present as well as the kids, decorations, cake and an enhanced goody bag. Ages 5 and up.
